This year, Gateway Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre joins the world in commemorating World Mental Health Day under the theme “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.” The day reminds us that in times of crisis, whether floods, pandemics, loss, or displacement, mental health support is not a luxury, but a necessity. When catastrophe strikes, emotional wounds are often invisible yet deeply painful. Ensuring that people can access timely, compassionate, and affordable mental health services can make all the difference between despair and recovery.
At Gateway, we believe that healing begins when care becomes reachable. Too often, people struggling after a crisis face barriers like distance, stigma, or cost that keep them from getting the help they need. Through our community programs, therapy services, and awareness initiatives, we are working to bridge that gap and create safe spaces where individuals can speak, heal, and find hope again. On Friday, 10th October, we invite everyone to join us at 16 McLaren Road, Milton Park, Harare, from 9 AM to 12 PM, for an inspiring morning filled with mental health talks, wellness activities, food stalls, and a touch of joy with karaoke among other exciting activities.
Together, let us celebrate resilience and advocate for inclusion because every mind matters, especially in times of uncertainty. By standing as a community, we can ensure that no one faces trauma alone and that access to mental health care remains a right for all, not a privilege for a few. Join us as we make wellness accessible, break stigma, and remind one another that even after the storm, healing is always possible. 🌿💚

Join us this World Mental Health Day for talks, food, karaoke, and good vibes all around 🌸
